Mice are one of the sneakiest causes of AC problems - and most homeowners never suspect them. They squeeze into the condenser unit, build a nest right up against the wiring, and start chewing. What follows can look like a dozen different issues: weak cooling, strange system behavior, breakers tripping for no obvious reason. It rarely points back to a rodent without someone actually opening the unit up and looking.

That's exactly what happened here. We found a mouse had set up inside the condenser and chewed through the wiring. The nest was packed in tight around the wires, and the damage was enough to throw the whole system off. This kind of electrical damage doesn't fix itself - and running the unit in that condition can cause bigger, more expensive problems down the line.

We repaired the damaged wires, cleared out the nest and debris, and got the system running properly again. The kind of AC repair that doesn't look flashy but matters a lot. Clean wiring means the system can actually do its job - and the homeowner gets their cool air back without wondering what's wrong.

If your AC has been acting up and you can't figure out why, rodent damage is worth putting on the list of possibilities - especially if the unit sits close to the ground or near landscaping. We've seen it more times than you'd think. The symptoms can mimic a lot of other issues, which is why having someone who knows what to look for makes a real difference.
