Not every gas line job is straightforward. This log home in Stacy, MN was already fully finished - walls done, floors done, everything buttoned up. The homeowners wanted gas to the kitchen, but the existing line was in a tough spot and there was simply no clean path to get there from inside. We explored every possible option before deciding to trench.

When trenching is the call, it has to be done right. Gabriel and Dakota ran the line from the propane tank, through a long trench along the property, and all the way to the home. The trench follows the edge of the driveway and wraps around to the side of the house - a clean, deliberate route that avoided unnecessary disruption to the yard.

Getting into a finished log home without making a mess is its own challenge. The interior termination point is a copper line coming up through the floor with a brass fitting and shutoff valve - tight, clean work in a space that didn't leave much room for error. That's the kind of detail that matters in a home people have already put a lot into.

Gas line installation in a fully finished home takes more planning than new construction. You're working around existing finishes, existing structure, and existing lines that can't move. Sometimes the only path is underground, and when that's the case, the trench needs to be straight, properly bedded, and run at the right depth. No shortcuts.

This family can now cook with gas in their kitchen - which was the whole goal from the start. Jobs like this one are a good reminder that the right answer isn't always the easiest one. It's just the one that works.
