Garages are one of those spaces that always seem to get forgotten when it comes to comfort. You can get a full remodel done - new drywall, fresh paint, storage built out - and then realize there's zero heat out there. That's exactly the situation we walked into on this one.
We got a Modine unit heater mounted up at the ceiling and fully roughed in. The flex duct is connected and routed, and the venting is punched through the exterior wall with a proper exhaust termination. Everything is positioned and set up the right way - the unit sits tight to the ceiling to keep floor space clear, and the exterior penetration is flashed cleanly against the siding so there's no water intrusion to worry about down the road.
This type of install matters a lot more than people realize. A garage heater that's vented incorrectly is a safety issue, plain and simple. Getting the exhaust routed to the outside - with the right clearances and a proper termination cap - is what separates a safe, code-compliant install from one that could cause real problems. We don't cut corners on that stuff.
The end result is a garage that's actually usable when the temperature drops. Whether it's a workshop, a home gym, or just extra living space, having reliable heat out there changes everything about how you use the room. Big credit to Alex, Jimmy, and Zen for knocking this one out the right way.
